Assistant Controller - Littleton, CO (Hybrid)
GavinHeath is partnering with a client in Littleton, CO , looking to add an Assistant Controller to their team. This role is a Temp-to-Hire (6-month contract) position , offering a transition to full-time employment based on performance, technical expertise, and cultural alignment.
Responsibilities :
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes , ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee and transition in-house sales tax reporting and multi-state compliance.
- Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts, accruals, and prepaid entries while ensuring adherence to GAAP (ASC 606).
- Support financial statement preparation and internal reporting.
- Manage accounts payable and vendor payments , ensuring timely processing and accurate financial records.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting to support strategic financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, ASC 606, and multi-state tax regulations .
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to align financial operations with business objectives.
- Foster a high-accountability, process-driven financial culture within the organization.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred) or equivalent hands-on experience.5+ years of professional accounting experience , ideally within IT services, consulting, Value-Added Resellers (VARs), or government contracting.Strong knowledge of GAAP (ASC 606) and multi-state tax compliance.Full-cycle accounting experience , including reconciliations, reporting, and cost analysis.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.Experience with ERP / accounting software and sales tax compliance tools is a plus.Highly analytical with strong problem-solving abilities.Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with leadership.Proactive, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven culture.GavinHeath is an equal opportunity employer.
