SUMMARY : The Field Manager role is primarily responsible for job site project management and sub-contractor assistance and accountability. This person will manage sub-contractor relationships and assist in customer-facing activities both before, during, and after project completion. Direct experience in the field of construction or equivalent leadership roles is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills as well as a strong technical aptitude are required. This position will oversee safety regulations, perform job site evaluations, and assist in the training of installation crews as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, Other duties may be assigned.

  • The position will consist of an 80% to 20% field-to-office time commitment.
  • This role will be responsible for ensuring all crews / technicians are performing at targeted completion and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Jobsite visits will be performed regularly and a digital audit trail will be a requirement for each visit documenting pre-determined quality and productivity achievements for accountability and visibility.
  • Will work daily with project coordinators and management team to communicate the field progress and relay communication both upstream and downstream.
  • This position will develop the hands-on training performance objectives for new crews / techs. This includes the focus points on non-negotiables with regard to upholding the warranty of the Pella Installation.
  • The responsibilities also include processing invoicing twice per month and signing off on completion forms.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with product knowledge to be able to navigate through order details
  • Promptly updates customers about any delays, product issues, scheduling changes, etc.
  • Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills
  • While performing the duties of this job must have a valid driver's license as well as a clean driving record.

QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor's degree (BA) in construction management or five to seven years of related experience in construction management. Must have knowledge and understanding of all Local and National Building Codes as they relate to window and door replacement.

COMPUTER SKILLS :

Ability to use Microsoft Office and ability to learn and understand Pella proprietary software.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS :

Excellent verbal and written English language skills are required as well as good customer service skills (in person or via the phone). Must be able to present information, gather information, and respond to questions from customers, managers, co-workers, and the general public.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS :

Must be a team player and exhibit a strong desire to learn and promote self-growth. Must be proactive, and self-motivated, and have a demonstrated ability to follow assignments through to completion. Attention to detail is required. Must be able to develop trust, respect, and confidence of customers, coworkers, and managers. Must present a clean and neat physical appearance. Must be able to problem solve and think creatively and positively when faced with obstacles.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

Ability to compile and decipher information in spreadsheet format. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, while using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, areas, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY :

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. The ability to negotiate effectively may be needed from time to time.

In addition to the annual salary, the position includes a company vehicle, gas card, and insurance paid by the company.

The successful candidate will be required to pass a drug screen, background check, and an MVR check.
