Job description

The Linen Supervisor maintains and develops positive customer relations by ensuring quality environmental service. Responsible for the daily operation of the EVS staff and provides feedback to the Manager, Environmental Services as needed. Ensures that work is done in accordance with standard procedures and with hospital objectives. Specific areas of responsibility including hiring, supervising, and training staff. Continually monitors and enhances departmental policies and procedures to ensure high satisfaction as well as efficient and effective business practices. Performs other duties assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.

Requirements :

  • High school diploma.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities :

  • Supervise daily laundry and linen services by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operations standards.
  • Ensure all linen and laundry supplies are ordered and controlled in accordance with hospital requirements.
  • Oversees the retrieval of soiled linen and the issuance of clean linen throughout the hospital.
  • Performs textile inventories in accordance with hospital requirements.
  • Manage linen exchange service and dispatches team members to respond to linen exchange.
  • Records incoming and outgoing weights of daily linen and keeps accounting and textile inventory records up to date.
  • Assure the correct linen Par level is on each cart.
  • Audit all unit’s linen inventory to confirm accuracy of linen delivered.
  • Oversee the weighing of all soiled linen and clean linen.
  • Meet with nursing units to confirm the correct Par level.
  • Report to EVS Manager weekly with soil to clean pounds.
  • Schedule :

    Monday – Friday; hours will vary
