NV Energy is seeking Journeyman Lineman for several of our Northern Nevada locations. As a Journeyman Lineman, you will perform all classes of overhead and underground transmission and distribution line work while working in a crew environment. Candidates, through training and experience, are required to demonstrate their knowledge of underground circuits, substations, and apparatus to test, maintain, and install duct line, cable, conduits, risers, Company-owned customer outdoor lighting equipment, circuit breakers, transformers, and associated equipment, substation equipment, and circuits.

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
High School Diploma or GED and completion of a four year Journeyman- Electric Lineman apprentice program through IBEW or DOL
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Experience with Hot Stick and Rubber gloving.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Climbing towers and poles, working outdoors in all weather conditions
Additional Requirements
This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under Title 49 CFR Part 382 and Part 40. Any applicant / employee who is licensed and would operate a commercial vehicle for the Company will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under the Company’s FMCSA drug and alcohol testing programs. Any employment, transfer, or promotion offer made for this position is contingent upon taking and passing a drug test prior to the commencement of the new role. If an applicant / employee fails the drug test, any offer of employment, transfer, or promotion will be revoked.
Compensation
63.73 per hour. Potential Safety Bonus 2%. The company reserves the right to determine the number of positions awarded for this requisition.
