Req : 149095Position Overview Role : B5 Telemetry RN Experience Required : 2+ years (Telemetry) Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS EMR System : Epic (Required) Floating : Yes (Acute Care Division, may float to ICU / PCU for Med-Surg assignments) Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend, 2 out of 3 major holidays Patient Population & Treatment Modalities Patients on this unit include : Acute & chronic renal failure Diabetes requiring continuous glucose monitoring Medical patients requiring telemetry monitoring for secondary cardiac diagnoses Multi-system conditions (GI, pulmonary, metabolic diseases) Key Treatments & Procedures : Telemetry monitoring (secondary to electrolyte imbalances & cardiac concerns) Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) Acute dialysis (provided by a contracted service) Pulmonary management (including CPAP / BiPAP for new starts & established patients) Continuous pulse oximetry monitoring Blood glucose monitoring & insulin management Central line management, IV pumps, tunneled catheters Wound vacs & glucometers Antiarrhythmic infusions (regulated by physician orders) Facility & Unit Information Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 4 (Telemetry) | 1 : 5 (Med-Surg) Support Staff : CNA / PCT (3 per shift), Unit Clerk (Day shift only) Specialty Testing : Rhythm recognition (80% passing grade required) Orientation : 2 days, completed on assigned shift Additional Facility Information Teaching Facility : No Trauma Level : N / A Advanced Practice on Unit : No Charge Nurse Requirement : No Scheduling : Travelers fill holes in the first schedule; requests allowed for subsequent schedules Dress Code : Scrubs : Any color (No denim, professional appearance required) Shoes : Non-skid, closed-toe (Heel strap required for clogs) Jewelry : Minimal, professional (Only ear piercings allowed) Hair : Shoulder-length or longer must be tied back Nails : No gels, acrylics, or extensions (Polish must be intact) Medication & Documentation Systems : EMR : Epic Medication System : Pyxis Floating & Shift Requirements Floating : Required within Acute Care Division, including ICU / PCU for Med-Surg assignments Shift : 12-hour shifts (07 : 00 AM - 07 : 30 PM) Rotation : Travelers float first but are included in rotation with other travelers Weekend Requirements : Every other weekend Holiday Requirements : Must work2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) and2 out of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day) Call Requirements : None Key Notes Must have ACTIVE CA RN license at time of submission Previous travel experience preferred Epic experience required Orientation checklist must be submitted after the second shift #HCRR
