Job Description

The Heavy Duty Porter is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The Heavy Duty Porter is also responsible for performing cleaning duties as directed by the Executive Steward, throughout Boyd Gaming properties; may be assigned to rotate between any Food & Beverage kitchen.

  • The Heavy Duty Porter provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
  • Empties and cleans garbage cans.
  • The Heavy Duty Porter empties grease barrels and trays.
  • Cleans floors, walls, and ceilings.
  • The Heavy Duty Porter sorts garbage.
  • Cleans floor drains and grease traps.
  • The Heavy Duty Porter cleans kitchen equipment, grill, fryer, ovens, etc.

Qualifications

  • Prior janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications required by Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.

    • The skills necessary of this position are typically acquired through a minimum of two (2) months’ on-the-job training or through related experience.
