Our client is a leading agency specializing in federal government projects, particularly in the social sciences and communications sectors. Our clients team is dedicated to delivering high-quality public relations and project management services to government clients. We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager with extensive experience in government communications and PR, especially in managing Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA) or Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts.

Contract to Hire : Initially work 20 hours until RFP has been obtain then after, full time employee offer will be made

Position Overview :

The Project Manager will play a critical role in managing and executing communications and public relations services for a federal government client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, specifically within the federal government sector, and demonstrate proven experience managing RFP contracts valued between $2-3 million. Experience with Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA) or IDIQ contracts is essential for this role. The PM will collaborate closely with the public relations team, ensure that all deliverables are met on time, and represent the agency in high-stakes government presentations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage government communications and PR projects, ensuring all timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
  • Collaborate with internal and external PR teams to develop and execute strategic communication plans.
  • Manage federal government contracts valued at $2-3M over a 5-year period, ideally Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA) or IDIQ contracts.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for government clients, ensuring smooth communication and coordination between stakeholders.
  • Oversee project deliverables and ensure all reporting and communications are completed to meet government requirements.
  • Participate in high-stakes oral presentations to government agencies as part of the proposal process.
  • Ensure compliance with federal government contracting procedures and guidelines, managing project risks and proactively addressing challenges.
  • Facilitate meetings, both internally and with government stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and prepare regular status reports for both internal teams and government clients.

Required Qualifications :

  • 7+ years of project management experience, specifically within the federal government or related sectors (social sciences, museums, libraries, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience managing federal government contracts valued between $2-3M over 5 years, preferably with BPA or IDIQ contracts.
  • Strong background in public relations and communications, with a focus on government outreach and engagement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the agency in oral presentations to government clients.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools used in government projects.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to navigate complex government contracting environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field; PMP certification is a plus but not required.
  • The target hiring compensation range for this role is $55 to $ 60 hourly. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
