The role of a Hardwood Flooring Installer at Paul’s Wood Flooring is suited to a candidate who is ready to step into a dynamic work environment. This is not a remote job; thus, the applicant must be prepared to engage in on-site installations with precision and efficiency. This position demands a thorough understanding of hardwood flooring processes including preparation, layout, cutting, and installation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and install hardwood floors in various locations according to specified measurements and design requirements.
- Remove existing flooring or underlayment and prepare the subfloor for new installation.
- Conduct moisture level testing in flooring areas to ensure proper installation conditions and prevent future flooring issues.
- Operate a range of manual and power tools safely to cut and shape wood planks and other materials.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety guidelines during every phase of the installation project.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures as required.
- Provide clear and comprehensive maintenance and care instructions to clients after the installation of new flooring.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment during and after installation procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay current with the latest flooring techniques and innovations.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Hardwood Flooring Installer or similar role in the construction or flooring industry.High school diploma or equivalent; professional certifications in flooring or carpentry are highly preferred.Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and the ability to apply them in practice.Physical agility and stamina to perform labor-intensive work for extended periods.Keen attention to detail to ensure high-quality and precise installations.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Effective communication skills to interact with team members, management, and clients.A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different worksites as required.Commitment to learning new techniques and continuously striving for improvement.
