COTA Duties Include :
- Provides skilled occupational therapy services / interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.
- Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referral to Registered Occupational Therapist.
- Implements and modifies the patient’s occupational therapy plan of treatment with OTR supervision
- Monitors patient responses to treatments and modifies it during treatment sessions as necessary.
- Observe residents and write progress reports.
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information as required.
COTA requirements include :
Must have an active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in good standing in the state of NY.Long term care experience preferredAbility to manage patients with different types of personalitiesExcellent interpersonal communication skills
