Accounting Clerk

Position Type : Temporary

Schedule : M-F, 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm

Assignment Length : Approximately 6-Months, possibly Longer.

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support a dynamic team in various accounting and clerical functions. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience while assisting in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of financial records within a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Under direct supervision, perform a variety of clerical accounting tasks, including the preparation, processing, and maintenance of financial records.
  • Prepare, assemble, verify, file, and scan bills, vouchers, invoices, requisitions, and purchase orders.
  • Collect and / or account for funds, and assist in preparing financial spreadsheets and statistical reports.
  • Post balances, adjust accounts, and assist with analyses, schedules, reconciliations, and other cost-related data issues.
  • Monitor, reconcile, and reimburse petty cash / check funds as needed.
  • Code Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions to ensure proper application of expenses and revenues.
  • Assist with inventory and reconciliation of credit card revenues and other related tasks.
  • Interface with vendors via phone, email, or in person.
  • Provide support to other accounting staff, with potential to review and assign tasks to others.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in operating a computer and common office equipment (e.g., printer, copier, calculator).
  • Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), or related software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact courteously and professionally with vendors and coworkers.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems and make recommendations.
  • Previous accounting experience, particularly in Accounts Payable (AP) or Accounts Receivable (AR)
