General Responsibilities :
This position is a blended position involving performing both private utility locating services and assist with geophysical and geotechnical field activities as described below :
Office Items : Work closely with Geophysical and Geotechnical department staff during the setup and initiation of field exploration services. Duties will include but will not be limited to : reviewing site plans, performing private utility locating services, relaying relevant information to project staff.
Field Items : Perform non-invasive utility locating and geophysical surveys from the ground surface using various geophysical technologies in support of underground utility location. Define survey objectives, follow survey design parameters, perform Conventional Utility Locating (CUL) methods along with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and provide interpretation of results. Results are incorporated into the planning of Terracon’s subsurface exploration services. In addition to utility locating services, perform field reconnaissance in support of the planned subsurface exploration activities and layout of test locations. May also assist with geotechnical and environment field sampling activities as needed.
