    Position Summary

    This internship will perform complex (journey-level) clerical work. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This internship will provide an opportunity to learn about the Statewide IT Project Oversight and the Project Delivery Framework program. The individual in this role will provide technical assistance work supporting the Digital Project Services division of DIR and assist with the Project Delivery Framework and Quality Assurance Team programs. Work involves research, analysis and reporting on statewide IT projects, development of various program related webinars and training and other program related duties.

  • Track, monitor, and report on IT Major Information Resources Projects for the Legislature.
  • Develops and edits various presentations and promotional materials for Digital Project Services events.
  • Develops and publishes various Digital Project Services reports and provides updates to policies, processes and procedures as needed.
  • Collect necessary information and assist updating and enhancing of website for the Texas Quality Assurance team, including development and execution of webinars to enhance content and valuableness of the website.
  • Work with the team to successfully complete recording and posting of DIR / QAT webinars and training.
  • Research and analyze applicable statutes, including legislative appropriations, and policies to help determine impacts to major information resources projects (MIRPs), Framework documentation, DIR, and QAT.
  • Participate in the team’s DIR Discovery session preparation and implementation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Education

  • A student currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university with a major or course work in IT, communications, journalism, liberal arts, government, political science, or a related field.
  • Must possess academic performance that is considered in good academic standing by college / university standards.
