Job Overview :

Bens Contracting Center is seeking an experienced Building Materials Sales Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for a driven, customer-focused professional with extensive knowledge of lumber, hardware, and building materials for both residential and commercial projects. The right candidate will be responsible for developing strong client relationships, driving sales, and providing expert product recommendations to contractors, builders, and homeowners.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and homeowners
  • Provide expert product recommendations and technical guidance on building materials
  • Generate sales by proactively engaging with customers and identifying their needs
  • Prepare quotes, bids, and proposals for commercial and residential projects
  • Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and new building materials
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate sales records and reports
  • Attend trade shows, manufacturer training, and networking events to enhance industry expertise

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in building materials sales (lumber, hardware, and construction supplies)
  • Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction materials
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to generate leads and close sales
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a fast-paced environment
