Primary Purpose Responsible for the repair and maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, systems, food service, kitchen equipment and appliances. Essential Functions
- Repairs and maintains compressors, motors, pumps, blowers, refrigeration equipment, starters, VED’s, boilers, chillers, pneumatic electronic, gas, steam, hydronic systems and components.
- Coordinates with architects, engineers, contractors, and other units in the department to complete mechanical projects.
- Purchase requisitions and materials inventory for installation, maintenance, and repair projects.
- Maintains accurate records on project and departmental work orders.
- Maintains and inspects mechanical, HVAC-R, and boiler systems.
- Responds to emergencies and implements repairs of campus buildings.
- Plumbing : clear drains, repair water leaks.
- Electrical : reset breakers, trouble shoot electrical malfunctions.
- Structures : board up broker windows and doors.
- Assist with mechanical, HVAC-R deferred maintenance needs of university buildings and makes recommendations for necessary repairs and upgrades.
- Assist with installation, maintenance, upgrades and operation of campus buildings Energy Management Systems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

High School Diploma or G.E.D.Five (5) years of experience in HVAC-R and / or plumbing as a journeyman.Preferred Qualifications

Work Environment / Work Week / Travel :
Work performed during standard business hours. May be required to work based on emergency need, weekend shift or after hours when other crafts are unavailable.

Valid driver’s license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University’s fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business.
