American Heritage Credit Union, a $5 billion credit union, has an immediate opening for a Programmer (Systems Developer) in our Information Systems Department. This position will be responsible for the full systems life cycle from designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting applications software.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop software documentation to provide clear understanding of the purpose and operational procedures of the program.
  • Assist in solving resolving system errors or correction of database records.
  • Develop computer programs to produce requested reports for the Credit Union.
  • Perform data analysis using available tools. Include reports and data extract outputs.
  • Develop software programs utilizing Symitar's Power-on software development language.
  • Manage software development projects coordinating user requirements and development timelines.
  • Prepare systems documentation for software development projects.
  • Ensure all daily jobs are completed according to established procedures.
  • Set up and run computer-generated reports.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field.
  • At least two years of programming experience and troubleshooting issues involving hardware and software problems. Experience working in a financial institution setting preferred.
  • Understanding of Object Oriented or 4GL software development languages a plus. (VB, C, C#, .ASP, Java etc.)
  • Work requires advanced working knowledge of Visual Basic & MSSQL.
  • Very advanced mathematical skills required (Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Understanding of Microsoft SQL database concepts including but not limited to :
  • SQL Query Statements
  • Relational Database concepts
  • Writing of SQL stored procedures
  • Ability to access SQL data from a variety of sources, ODBC, Website, etc.
