The Department of Critical Care Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is seeking a fellowship-trained Critical Care physician. Candidates must have a strong commitment to an academic career in Critical Care Medicine including active participation in education, research and quality improvement in addition to clinical practice.
The Intensive Care Unit at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is a vigorous, recently expanded, 48 bed unit that cares for a broad spectrum of adults with medical and surgical critical illnesses in support of a quaternary hospital. We are a multidisciplinary department and value diverse skill sets for the care of critically ill patients with complex needs. Our ICU team cares for patients with solid organ or stem cell transplants, cardiovascular surgery, advanced heart failure, ECMO, neurosurgery and neurology, and medical-surgical critical care needs.
Ability to function as a communicative, collaborative member of the multidisciplinary, multispecialty team is vital. The attending physician is a team leader and expected to uphold the values and professionalism of Mayo Clinic.
Teaching opportunities abound including : Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, Internal Medicine Residency, Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine Fellowship, Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Fellowship, as well as rotating learners from other disciplines, academic programs and organizations. Starting in 2026-2027 we will have 2 Anesthesiology Critical Care Fellows.
Research is a key focus for development within the Department. We are currently recruiting for multiple expansion positions and would like to target one as an investigator on track for competitive funding for Critical Care research including clinical trials.
