Swim Instructor
The City of Groveport, Ohio, is central Ohio's small town. Groveport is a growing City in southeastern Franklin County. The community has a state of the art recreation and aquatic center, a world class golf course, an excellent arts and education program, several parks and a quaint Main Street historic area. We are looking for a Swim Instructor to join our team and work closely with the Groveport residents and staff. This is an amazing opportunity with a very competitive starting hourly wage.
PURPOSE : Under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager and Head Lifeguard, Swim instructors are responsible for teaching swimming / diving and water safety to patrons at the Aquatic Centers. Swim Instructors will also be responsible for the safety of patrons at the Groveport Aquatic Center.
QUALIFICATIONS : Applicant must be at least 15 years of age and be able to exert extreme physical effort.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : The following certification is preferred : American Red Cross WSI.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED : Telephone system, cleaning equipment, two-way radio, lifesaving equipment, pool vacuums and other various pieces of parks & recreation related equipment.
INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS OR PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS : The employee has exposure to chemical compounds found in a commercial aquatic environment (e.g., chlorine, muriatic acid, stabilizer, etc.); works in both indoor and outdoor pool environments; works around persons of all ages; exposed to possible injury from bodily fluids, hazardous waste; may have contact with potentially violent or emotionally distraught persons; routinely lifts objects 20 lbs. or less; occasionally pushes objects 100 lbs. or less; occasionally pulls objects 100 lbs. or less.
