Registered Nurse, RN (PRN) - Labor and Delivery

Work location : Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road TX 75093-7914

Work hours : PRN - Nights; 6 shifts in 6 weeks, weekends and major / minor holiday. No set schedule, coverage needs

Surgery highlights :

  • 17-LDR's (Labor / Delivery / Recovery rooms)
  • 4 OR suites
  • 350-400 deliveries per month on average
  • Separate Antepartum / High Risk OB department
  • Best Place to Have a Baby designation

Here's What You Need

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma
  • BSN preferred
  • 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required And
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required And
  • IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Upon Hire Preferred And
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Labor and Delivery Only 90 Days Required And
  • IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Labor and Delivery Only 6 Months Required And
  • NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required And
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required
  • What You Will Do

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety / infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and / or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
