Active Nevada CPA a must!The successful person will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization. As a 501(c)(6) entity, the Controller will ensure compliance with regulations specific to membership-based organizations, including tax filings. This role will also be instrumental in executing strategic goals and participating in strategic planning to advance the organization’s mission. Essential Functions
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and revenue recognition, with a focus on membership dues and other revenue streams.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, assist with quarterly and year-end BOD reporting, as well as other financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
- Perform monthly bank and investment reconciliations, ensuring timely reporting and accurate account balances.
- Prepare and compile financial information for the annual financial audit and support external auditors.
- Prepare documentation for federal tax returns and coordinate with external tax preparers, ensuring compliance with 501(c)(6) regulations, including unrelated business income.
- Support the CFO in developing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans that align with strategic objectives.
- Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support organizational decisions and improve financial performance.
- Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and financial investments, making recommendations for optimization.
- Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering a team culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to enhance organizational efficiency and risk management.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making and improve organizational financial health.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years inpublic accounting.
- Experience with nonprofit organizations is strongly preferred, particularlywith 501(c)(6) entities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools (such asGP MS Dynamics, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or equivalent).
