Essential Duties
and Responsibilities :
Oversee training of golfers in conjunction with the other coaches.
Develop training plans for golfers in conjunction with the other coaches.
Assist in overseeing the running of specific events as needed at home games as directed by the Director of Athletics and Operations.
Contribute to game line-up planning with other coaches.
Attend and coach at all practices.
Attend and coach at all meets.
Assist other coaches in monitoring team members’ practice attendance, school attendance, meet attendance and grades
Assist other coaches in enforcing team policies.
Responsible for providing kids feedback about their performance related to their disposition, behavior and team skills.
Manage program budget organize fundraising efforts for the golf program
Coordinate competition and practice schedules with the Director of Athletics and Operations.
Coordinate off-season training for the golf program
Successful completion of the required WIAA Rules Exam for golf by the 2024 fall sports season.

Qualifications :
Competitive playing experience in golf at the high school level.
Previous coaching experience with preference to coaches with prior successful experience as varsity head golf coach.
Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of contemporary golf systems.
Commitment to year-around personnel skill enhancement and program improvement.
Demonstrated ability to provide positive motivation and development of student-athletes including year-around monitoring of conduct and academic performance.
Demonstrated ability to maintain open communication with coaching staff, student athletes, parents and age group golf coaches.
Demonstrated knowledge about instructional progressions of golf techniques.
Demonstrated ability to analyze opponent tendencies and to design responsive strategies.
Current certification in first aid, with preference for course work in sports-medicine, injury prevention, rehabilitation and cooperation with team or family physicians.
Current certification or must obtain within one month of employment and maintain CPR / AED certification from a national certifying organization.
Skill in budgeting and supplemental fund raising. Skill in long-range planning for enhancement and maintenance of equipment inventories.
Ability to coordinate all levels of competition within the golf program.
Demonstrated ability to work with and coach a diverse population.
Successful completion of an approved coach’s education course (ASEP) or the ability to complete the course prior to the second season of coaching if no teaching license.
Evidence the candidate is knowledgeable of WIAA eligibility standards and is willing to reinforce good sportsmanship and compliance with athletic codes among team members and members of the golf coaching staff.
Ability to integrate the golf program into the total school experience of the student athlete.
Preferred : Valid teaching license
Preferred : College playing / coaching experience
Preferred : Demonstrated ability to successfully implement golf systems in a high school setting

WIAA 2024 Fall Sports Season
Working Conditions :
Will be expected to work in evenings and weekends. Will also be expected to work in various outdoor weather conditions.
Physical Requirements :
The job will require you to stand for extended periods of time, while coaching at practices and games.
