Job Description :

Direct Counsel is seeking a highly skilled Senior Income Tax Associate with 6 or more years of substantive tax experience , with a focus on transactional tax matters . The ideal candidate will have experience leading the tax aspects of M&A and / or real estate transactions , including managing junior associates and paralegals while maintaining significant client interaction.

This role places a heavy emphasis on pass-through entities and C-Corporation planning , including QSBS and irrevocable trust structuring within M&A transactions, family office planning, real estate ventures, estate planning transactions, internal restructurings, litigation, and employment disputes.

Key Qualifications :

• Strong background in transactional tax law , including M&A and real estate tax matters
• Experience managing tax-related aspects of complex transactions
• Strong academic credentials and excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Large law firm experience preferred
• LL.M. in Taxation is highly desirable
• Admission to the State Bar of California is required

Compensation :

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $235,000 – $255,000 , depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
