The Associate Provost plays a key leadership role in advancing Endicott's academic mission by providing essential oversight within the Office of the Provost. Reporting directly to the Provost, this position oversees academic affairs administration, while taking ownership of experiential learning initiatives across campus. A central focus of the Associate Provost's work will be to expand and integrate experiential learning opportunities across all academic disciplines, specifically leading and enhancing Endicott's signature internship program, The Endicott Experiential Edge. This position will provide strategic guidance and oversight to administrators responsible for executing the daily functions of academic operations at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Associate Provost will support deans and directors in key areas of academic operations, and lead a team of five including Internship & Career Services, Teaching & Learning, Global Education, Library Services, honors, promoting academics, and major academic events such as Commencement. This position requires a strategic and collaborative leader with expertise in experiential learning, a strong commitment to student success, and the ability to drive operational excellence across all of our academic programs.

Key Outcomes

60% of Time : Academic Operations Leadership and Strategic Oversight

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the academic units reporting to the Associate Provost, aligning them with the College's mission and strategic goals around internship and experiential learning by fostering collaboration, enhancing academic offerings, and driving institutional progress.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the daily operations of Academic Affairs, by pro-actively ensuring efficient processes, faculty support, and student success.
  • Foster cross-campus collaboration to drive academic innovation by engaging faculty, staff, and external partners in interdisciplinary initiatives that enhance student learning and institutional effectiveness.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for innovation in academic programming, by evaluating emerging trends, incorporating high-impact practices, and strengthening industry partnerships.
  • Advance teaching and learning initiatives that support instructional excellence and innovative teaching strategies, in particular around Endicott's Experiential Edge.
  • Enhance global education initiatives such as study abroad programs, international partnerships, and global learning experiences, by supporting the Global Education Office
  • Collaborate with library leadership to optimize resources, technology, and services that support student and faculty research and learning.
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction for honors societies, student engagement, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Plan and execute high-profile academic events, including Convocation and Commencement, ensuring seamless coordination and stakeholder involvement.
  • Represent Academic Affairs at institutional and community events by advocating for academic initiatives, strengthening external relationships, and enhancing the College's visibility.

30% of Time : Internship & Experiential Learning Leadership

  • Oversee experiential learning initiatives, in particular Endicott's Internship Program, by facilitating regular meetings with stakeholders, serving as a thought partner for the Internship Faculty, aligning internship curriculum, and refining internship policies, procedures, and technologies.
  • Elevate national recognition of Endicott's experiential learning programs by working with the Internship Faculty to present at conferences and showcase stories of the internship program and student success.
  • Support the coordination of campus-wide stakeholders to expand internship opportunities by collaborating with Internship Faculty, Deans, Employee Relations, Career Services, alumni and others.
  • Serve as a thought leader in experiential learning by developing innovative strategies, supporting faculty in incorporating applied learning, and promoting best practices in hands-on education.
  • Assess and refine experiential learning programs, including the Internship Program, in collaboration with the Director of Assessment, Internship Faculty, deans, and other stakeholders by analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing enhancements that strengthen student outcomes.
  • 10% of Time : Service and Professional Development

  • Serve on College and academic committees, such as the Deans Council and President's Council, by contributing expertise, shaping policies, and supporting institutional initiatives that advance academic excellence.
  • Represent Endicott College at conferences, external meetings, and other professional venues by engaging in thought leadership, networking with peers, and positioning the College as a leader in experiential learning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders by fostering collaboration, addressing challenges, and promoting a culture of academic excellence.

  • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • An earned doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education administration overseeing academic programs, experiential learning, or related initiatives.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing professional staff, including setting goals, evaluating performance, and fostering professional growth.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines, while maintaining a high standard of quality in work and decision-making.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives within academic affairs, particularly in experiential learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-level initiatives that require collaboration across multiple functional areas, including faculty, staff, and external partners.
  • A track record of successfully mentoring and developing faculty and staff to support institutional priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess programs, analyze data, and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex academic structures, policies, and accreditation requirements.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Fluency in Google Suite and other relevant technologies, including Excel, as well as learning management systems and data visualization tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including attention to detail in written work.
  • Ability to think innovatively and contribute to the evolution of experiential learning and academic programming.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support academic events, student engagement initiatives, and institutional priorities.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for conferences, professional development, and representing the College at external meetings or partnership events.
