The Academy is currently hiring an experienced and passionate Social Studies teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.This is a full time role and will report to the Chair of the History and Social Studies department.This position pays - $65,000 to $75,000All faculty and staff must demonstrate a commitment to the Core Values of the Academy : community, Catholic identity, academic excellence, educating the whole person, tradition, diversity, leadership, single-sex education, environment, and communication.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Teach World History and Advanced Placement (AP) History courses, with potential opportunities to teach additional courses and electives.Demonstrate effective classroom management skills to create a student-centered and engaging learning environmentDevelop and implement lesson plans aligned with departmental curriculum and objectives.Use diverse instructional strategies to provide to support students of varying ability levels.Evaluate student progress through assessments, maintain accurate records, and provide constructive feedback.Collaborate closely with colleagues to align course pacing, major assessments, and curricular developmentIncorporate appropriate educational technology into the teaching environmentMaintain professional competence through professional development and in-service activitiesContribute to departmental initiatives and participate in school-wide academic review processesServe as an advisor and engage in additional school-related duties as neededPotential opportunities to supervise after-school activities base on interest and institutional needs.JOB REQUIREMENTS : EDUCATION : Bachelor's Degree in History, Social Studies Education, or a related field requiredMaster's Degree in History, Education or a related field preferredMinimum of three years of high school teaching experience preferredDemonstrated expertise in teaching World History and Advanced Placement (AP) History coursesStrong communication, organization, and collaboration skillsFlexibility in adapting to changing schedules and school needsEnthusiasm for teaching in an all-girls Catholic school settingPREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS : Experience teaching additional Advanced Placement (AP) courses such as Comparative Government and PoliticsInterest in interdisciplinary teaching opportunitiesBackground in diverse educational experiences such as research methods, or specialized social science fields.Commitment to fostering a learning environment that reflects diverse perspectives and historiesInterested candidates should send a cover letter and resume to [email protected]
