Are you a responsible and safety-conscious driver looking for a meaningful part-time opportunity? Lacy Landers Center is now accepting applications for Part-Time Van Drivers in Little Rock, AR !

Position : Van Driver - Part-Time

Location : Little Rock, AR

Schedule : Split Shift : 5 : 45 AM - 8 : 00 AM / 2 : 45 PM - 5 : 00 PM

Starting Pay : $13 per hour

What You'll Do :

  • Ensure the safe transportation of children by securing them in age-appropriate seats and ensuring they remain seated at all times.
  • Maintain and submit daily transportation / trip sheets , including driver and rider signatures, date, and mileage records.
  • Ensure parents / guardians sign children on and off the van for accountability.
  • Refuel vehicles as needed before or after morning routes.
  • Drive responsibly by following all traffic laws, including adhering to speed limits and stopping at railroad crossings. No cell phone use or radio playing while driving.
  • Maintain a clean vehicle by ensuring no trash is left inside.
  • Check the transportation log daily for any route or schedule changes.
  • Collect and distribute mail from the transportation department to parents / guardians.
  • Report any concerns or parent complaints to the Transportation Manager.
  • Assist in pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections with the rider's assistance.
  • Ensure children's personal belongings remain accounted for during transport.
  • Sign off on trip sheets confirming all children are off the vehicle after parking.
  • Follow all transportation policies and procedures specific to Lacy Landers.

Requirements :

  • Age Requirement : 21 years or older.
  • Education : High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Driver's License & Certifications :

    • Valid Arkansas driver's license required.

  • CPR / First Aid certification (or must obtain upon hire).
  • Background Check & Drug Screening : Required for all candidates.
  • Safety Commitment : Must adhere to all safety protocols, including prohibitions against driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs as per Arkansas law.

    This is a safety-sensitive position, meaning your role directly impacts the well-being of the individuals you transport. Employees in safety-sensitive roles must not report to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol and are prohibited from testing positive for controlled substances, including those listed under Arkansas and Federal laws, regardless of medical marijuana cardholder status.

    Physical Requirements :

  • Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling objects.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs regularly, 35 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally .
  • Strong vision abilities , including close vision, depth perception, and color recognition.

    • Work Environment :

  • The noise level is moderate.
  • Frequent driving in varying weather conditions.
