Job Description and Duties
Under California Government Code 14200, this position is eligible for hybrid telework for eligible applicants residing in California, with on-site presence required at least two times per week. Candidates who reside outside of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded. In accordance with CSD’s Policy Directive 22-001, all telework employees utilize a shared workspace or “hotel” space when working on-site and may be required to report in-person to headquarters and / or off-site locations more frequently as determined by management. The Department reserves the right to modify or cancel telework agreements and / or conditions as needed.
As the ITS I programmer, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and guided by the Senior Solution Architect, the incumbent will serve as a programmer / application developer for the Information Technology Branch. Duties include analyzing, designing, programming, implementing, documenting, testing, deploying, debugging, and supporting applications.
The incumbent will work independently to provide comprehensive enterprise-wide support for system reports, interfaces, enhancements, security configuration, and delivery. Leveraging Microsoft .NET technology and low / no code platforms such as Salesforce, the ITS I will troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and address application bugs and defects.
Documentation of system changes, fixes, processes, and functionalities is crucial, as is collaboration with peers and customers. The position also entails providing ongoing operational support to ensure that systems meet business objectives and incorporate the latest technology trends and best practices.
To excel in this role, the incumbent must possess extensive experience in Microsoft IIS administration, HTML, JavaScript, Web programming, XML, WCF Web Services, Microsoft SQL Server database programming, and Microsoft Reporting Services. These skills are essential for executing daily tasks and implementing new program requirements effectively. The below table is a list of CSD’s systems, platforms, and middleware.
