The Leffell School - HR Generalist Temp
Location : Hartsdale, NY
Schedule : 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM Monday–Thursday, early release Friday at 2 : 00 PM
Duration : February to the end of June
Type : Temporary, Hourly, 1 Paid Hour Lunch
Pay Range : $18-$22 per hour
Position Overview :
The Leffell School has an immediate need for an organized, positive, and detail-oriented HR Temp with 1-2 years of experience in HR, payroll, or benefits. Microsoft Excel experience is required.
You will help HR support the faculty and staff in carrying out The Leffell School’s mission to develop students into responsible, honest, compassionate, and respectful citizens. Jewish faith is not required.

The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K–12 Jewish independent school serving more than 850 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City.
What You Will DoPayroll & Benefits Administration :
Assist HR Specialist process payroll by managing timesheets, data entry, and coordinating with faculty to ensure accuracy.
Coordinate communication with brokers and vendors to address employee benefits questions and address any issues.
Assist with the administration of the employee benefits programs, including acting as a liaison between employees and vendors.
Other payroll and benefits tasks as assigned.
HR Support & Employee Assistance :
Manage calendars, schedule meetings.
Assist with job postings, background checks, fingerprinting, and maintaining employee records.
Support HR compliance by helping gather information for audits, tracking policy requirements, managing employment posters.
Prepare HR documents and reports and provide general support to the HR team.
Work with HR Manager and HR Specialist on day to day activites, including training, employee relations, onboarding and offboarding, event planning and more.
What You Need
1-2 years of HR, payroll, or benefits experience, and a bachelor's or associates degree.
Proficiency in Excel & Google Sheets (formulas, formatting, tables, filtering) and familiarity with Google Workspace.
Working knowledge of HR concepts, policies, and procedures; experience with ADP Workforce Now or another HRIS is a plus.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
