Carpenter

A successful candidate for this position is a skilled carpenter who is motivated, energetic and team-oriented with a proven ability to problem-solve. Responsibilities

• Under the general direction of the Carpentry Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work
• Utilizes carpentry skills to remodel, maintain, and repair various types of facilities, buildings, animal exhibits, decks, scaffolds, forms, frames, fences, and other structures
• Responsible for completing assigned work orders and preventative maintenance within a timely manner
• Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations
• Estimates cost, time and materials for carpentry projects
• Participates in the maintenance and operations of zoo exhibits and events
• Maintains and services tools and equipment used in the performance of duties
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment
