Title : High School Math Teacher
Reports To : Building Principal
Employment Status : Regular, exempt, GHEA Bargaining Member
Position Summary : Assist young adult students with the development of the skills and knowledge that lead the competence and maturity in preparation for college and career success upon graduation.
Job Qualifications : Required :
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid State of Ohio teaching license in Mathematics (7-12)
- Ability to teach AP / CCP courses is preferred, but not required

Instruction and Leadership :
Develop a thorough knowledge of the courses of study for implementation in the classroomContinuously assess student achievement in order to design and differentiate instructionPrepare clear and timely lesson plans, as required by the principal, which demonstrates knowledge of the course(s) of study that contain sound teaching and assessment methodsAdminister standardized and criterion referenced tests according to district policies and proceduresProvide opportunities for students to share and display their achievementsPrepare adequate lesson plans and instructions for substitute teachersServe as a role model for students in the practice of ethics, responsibility, and democratic valuesProfessional Development :
Be available for education related purposes outside of the instructional dayServe on committees and participate in school related activitiesComplete an individual professional development plan according to proceduresLearn and implement the administrative procedures associated with the teaching assignment; for example, applying for a field trip or conducting and fundraiserCommunication and Collaboration :
Effectively and clearly report to parents in a regular and positive manner at intervals established by the district and / or buildingMake appropriate referrals of students for supplemental help; attending planning meetings as assigned, and implement individual education plansUse sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with students, parents and the communityMaintain the confidentiality of information that is not public domainWork cooperatively with peers, administrators and support staffMiscellaneous Tasks :
Assist with the selection of textbooks and other teaching materialsWork with student teachers, if assignedMaintain appropriate personal appearance and hygieneObserve all safety and health regulations of the building and districtPerform other duties as assigned by the Principal, the Superintendent or his / her designees
