KTG USA is a high-speed complex tissue manufacturing mill that operates 24 / 7 / 365. The Machine Operator positions are part of a production team that work 12-hour rotating shifts and have accountability for the safe operation and minor maintenance of equipment in assigned production areas. Current vacancies are entry-level positions within the Paper Mill and Converting Departments.
The expectation is that individuals filling these positions will be self-motivated to learn all of the responsibilities within their operational area to ensure complete flexibility so that Machine Operator employees can flow to the work as needed. Machine Operator employees will also be expected to provide coaching, mentoring, and training to other team members to ensure the development of other team members.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensuring all safety rules and safe work procedures are followed by themselves and by others working in and around the machinery
- Maintaining housekeeping standards
- Making sure that all finished tissue products adhere to quality conformance and diligence specifications
- Operating primary equipment in the department assigned (for example : forklifts, rewinders, core machines, core delivery systems, log saws, palletizers, wrapper / bundlers, and / or case packers, pulping equipment, paper machine equipment, etc.) with a sense of urgency and at centerline conditions, standard speeds, etc. to maximize productivity and achieve production targets
- Inputting data into and monitoring mill-wide Data Collection Systems as required to verify continuous operation at machine set-points
- Managing costs wisely by eliminating waste (i.e. raw materials, finishing supplies, parts, tools, time, personnel), and taking the initiative to bring forward and resolve issues
- Initiating, completing and / or assisting with equipment maintenance and repair as needed
HIRING REQUIREMENTS :
Must be at least 18 years of ageMust have earned a High School Diploma or GEDMust be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug test, and criminal background checkMust complete and achieve required scoring levels on both the ACT Work Keys and STM Mechanical Aptitude Assessment (both are provided during the recruitment process)Have ability and willingness to :Lift up to 50lbs., climb ladders and stairs, work at heights, and stand for continuous periods of timeWork rotating 12hr shifts (two 12-hour days, two 12-hour nights, then 4 days off) with available overtime and some holidaysWork in a hot, humid, noisy, and high-volume machine production areaTHE BEST SUITED CANDIDATES WILL :
