C.J. Segerstrom & Sons is a long standing, privately owned commercial real estate firm in Costa Mesa, CA. The Company owns and manages South Coast Plaza, the largest shopping center on the West Coast with sales of over $1.8 billion annually.

Role Description

This is a full-time (30 hours per week) on-site role for a Financial Assistant. The Financial Assistant will be responsible for tasks such as analyzing financial data, processing invoices, assisting with finance and accounting activities, and communicating effectively with team members.

Essential Duties

Utilize QuickBooks to manage and automate financial tasks under various categories involving the primary responsibility of paying invoices. Processing of accounts payable includes verifying, allocating, obtaining necessary approvals, posting transaction, and filing of all financial documents.

Capable of spotting and resolving discrepancies.

Periodic handling of transactions with the bank. Reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and preparing monthly summary report.

Handle requests, including troubleshooting and problem solving, from corporate offices, philanthropic groups, community groups and vendors. Respond to all requests in a timely manner and mail and coordinate delivery, if needed.

Assist with creating budgets, financial forecasts and other accounting reports as requested.

Collect and summarize data for tax forms, obtain signatures and route accordingly as requested by the Senior Executive tax preparation firm, including tracking of work-related hours.

Routine administrative tasks include phone calls, mail, e-mail, calendar and faxes.

Handle other duties or special projects as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field with 5+ years bookkeeping expereince
