JOB SUMMARY
Works under general supervision of physician and / or nurse to provide clinical support to physicians and nurses in delivery of patient clinical care and administrative support.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
1 year of experience patient care in a physician office practice or
Completion of Medical Assistant training
Licenses and Certifications
CPR certification Upon Hire or
BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire and
Medical Assistant certification and maintenance of current certified status obtained through one of the following : Upon Hire
The American Association of Medical Assistants
The American Medical Technologists Association
The National Association for Health Professionals
The National Center for Competency Testing
The National Healthcareer Association for American Allied Health JOB DUTIES
Takes, records, and reports patient vital signs using medical equipment; performs procedures of low complexity such as visual acuity, development and / or musculoskeletal screening, POC testing, phlebotomy, EKG testing, and other approved clinic specific diagnostic testing.
Documents completion of patient care tasks in medical records, and reinforces education provided by the physician or nurse seeking assistance from the nurse or physician as appropriate.
