Job Summary : The Senior Staffing Coordinator is responsible coordinating and monitoring the supplemental and agency staffing activities. This job is accountable for clinical pool and agency staffing, intradepartmental activities and interdepartmental activities, process improvement activities and fiscal control.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities :

  • Plans appropriate pool and agency staffing practices by maximizing the utilization of resources; forecasts and anticipates the employee needs of the unit with regard to fluctuations in the patient workload.
  • Maintains staffing at agreed upon budgetary standards.
  • Assists management with implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
  • Ensures and monitors compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance.
  • Communicates with units on a daily basis to determine staffing needs.
  • Participates with short and long term planning for unit staffing.
  • Maintains a positive responsible attitude for the department activities as well as their own. Conducts everyday operations with minimal supervision or guidance.
  • Provides timekeeping educational support for management and end-user staff and assists with departmental and interdepartmental orientation and training as needed.
  • Maintains master staffing sheets, schedules, manpower reports, and PTO requests. Ensures that timekeeping standards are within policy standards as applicable.
  • Transfers information (cancellations, absences, sick time, PTO) onto the master schedule and verifies the accuracy of information entered by the staffing department.
  • Maintains rotation of holiday staffing for all disciplines (RN, Patient Care Support, etc.) as applicable.

Qualifications :

Required Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • 2 plus years of staffing experience in a hospital environment.
