Job description

Role : Procurement Manager Location : Richmond, BC Salary : $75,000 - $92,000 Client : Grocery Your new role Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Equipment Procurement Manager (EMP) is responsible to lead and execute purchasing strategies nationally in obtaining high-quality and reliable equipment. The EMP is expected to develop and implement procurement standards and policies, develop a quality and reliable supplier list, and execute of all purchasing activities. Major Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of equipment
  • Collaborate with business users and Project Managers toprehend equipment requirements and formulate procurement plans aligned with organizational objectives
  • Identify, assess, and select reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts for favorable terms and conditions
  • Develop a list of reliable suppliers, fostering relationships to ensure consistent product quality
  • Lead and organize all purchasing activities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce lead times

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Procurement, or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in purchasing equipment for large supermarkets or food production retail chain
  • Strong familiarity with procuringmercial equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, food maker, cooler, heater, fixture, etc
  • Strong network of suppliers and manufacturers in China is mandatory
  • Excellent technical understanding of supermarket equipment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in negotiation andmunication skills
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English, ability tomunicate in Chinese is an asset
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently
