Essential Job Functions
- Supports and models behaviors consistent with themission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and department / service.
- Creates, builds, edits and maintains master templates within Cerner forResources, as requested by leadership and in accordance with the overarchingprinciples and guidelines and other access initiatives.
- May consult with department leadership and others in determining where toplace patients to be rescheduled. Responsible to hold existing schedules andcommunicates rescheduling needs with appropriate resources that are result of achange to a providers schedule.
- Must have a fundamental understanding of all access initiatives and processimprovement in the organization and how they work and help one another.
- If requested changes are not in alignment, being able to address suchconcerns with local leaders and escalating concerns through chain of command toensure things like appointment types and templates keep within the guard railsof the overarching principles and guidelines.
- Work with local leadership to ensure that templates are built to meet thecontractual obligations of the provider patient contact hours.
- May be responsible for manually applying changes that are not included in theautomated template roll.
- Works with trainers to update & maintain scheduling protocols based ontemplate changes and other departmental leadership requests. The Schedulingteam uses these as their guidelines in making appointments.
- Communicates the changes to the Scheduling Trainers and possibly thedepartment.
- May assist the trainers or others with any questions related to changes andtraining.
- Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality.
- Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets allmandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
- Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agencyenvironmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to jobperformance.
- May provides support and assistance to the Scheduling team as needed anddirected by leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of thedepartment / organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
2 Year Associate's Degree preferredExperience
2 years of professional office experienceExperience working on projects and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to accomplish set objectives.Experience scheduling at Billings Clinic, preferred, or experience working in programs used for front end access and customer service with understanding of how they work with back end tables and connections.Certifications and Licenses
Complete Cerner classes and training within 1 year of assuming roleOr an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. Employees that require a licensed or certification must be properly licensed / certified and the licensure / certification must be in good standing.
