Operational Risk Analyst

Location : Florida - in office 4 days a week in Florida

Overview : Join a leading Optimus Energy client as an Operational Risk Analyst , focused on optimizing business operations and improving processes across the Middle Office. Unlike traditional risk roles, this position functions like a business analyst for the risk area, emphasizing big-picture enhancements over day-to-day controls, with a particular focus on wholesale energy market operations. Your business AND technical abilities will drive efficiency and streamline cross-departmental processes, ultimately aligning operational workflows with business objectives while managing process risk.

Qualifications :

  • Education & Experience :
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in process assessment, risk management, or a related area.
  • Key Skills, Abilities and Experience :
  • Strong analytical mindset with a big-picture approach to process optimization.
  • Strong system and technical acumen
  • Experience with ETRM, such as Allegro Horizon
  • Excellent problem solver with natural curiosity to figure out the "why" when something isn't working
  • Skilled at validating data
  • Experience with the power and / or gas trade lifecycle
  • Proven ability to research and model risk across departments.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple projects and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Effective communicator for cross-functional collaboration and executive-level reporting.
  • Ability to drive process improvements across the company and its client base.
  • Ability to analyze workflows to make more efficient.
  • Developing and executing testing plans for system risks related to new products.
  • Ability to utilize existing tools to automate processes
  • Working cross-functionally on high impact projects
  • Reducing redundancies and manual workloads
