Grey Matters Defense Solutions is seeking a talented and dedicated  Software Developer

About the job :

  • You will be working with a team of AI / ML Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Software Developers to build and deploy novel capability to the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DOD).
  • Contribute to all aspects of project software development lifecycle from research, prototyping solutions to assess feasibility, integration with external software systems, development, and product deployment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide architecture and design input for all portions of the software development lifecycle
  • Provide and execute design ideas for development of new program capabilities and / or enhance existing program capabilities.
  • Proficiency working with Java and Python
  • Experience with microservice architectures within a Docker containerized environment
  • Experience deploying software solutions to a cloud-based environment
  • Experience developing software in a Unix / Linux environment

    • About you :

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SSBI
  • Three (3) years professional experience as a software developer
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Intelligence PED process
  • Languages :   Java, Python
  • Atlassian Tools : Jira, Confluence
  • Version Control : Git
  • OSs :   Linux and Windows
  • Containerization :

    • Docker : Proficient in building and running

  • Docker-compose : Intermediate to proficient
  • Databases :

    • SQL based : Intermediate to proficient

  • Non-SQL based : Intermediate to proficient
  • Familiar with CRUD operations to both SQL and Non-SQL DBs
  • RESTful API : Development and usage
  • Microservice Architecture : Proficient or at least intermediate with desirability to become proficient

    • Preferred Skills :

  • Containerization :

    • Helm Charts :   Usage and creating of charts for system deployment

  • Kubernetes : Deployment to and running within a hosted cluster
  • Other tools : Harbor, ArgoCD, Jenkins, Rancher
