Director of Behavioral Health – Behavioral Health and Crisis – Acute Care Hospital

GHR Search is partnered with one of New Jerseys most reputable acute care hospitals to identify a qualified and experienced Director of Behavioral Health to join their team. This is a 13-week contract position, with a strong possibility of an extension or opportunity for full-time employment.

    • Job Description

    In collaboration with Nursing Services and Psychiatry / Behavioral Health Medical Directors, provides direction for all programs including : ambulatory / outpatient services, psychiatric emergency services, psychiatric and detox inpatient units and consultation services. Responsible for planning, development, organization, and evaluation of Behavioral Health Services. Accountable for financial management, staff development, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, customer satisfaction and strategic planning.

    Job Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field required, master’s degree preferred
  • New Jersey state professional license that is active and in good standing
  • A minimum of 3+ years of management experience within Behavioral Health Services in an acute care or psychiatric facility required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with proven track record of building and coaching successful teams
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships within a team
