What you need to know
Job Summary :
This position is expected to support or contribute to project research and proposal development. The general focus of this position is transportation planning, data, technology, and compliance with state and federal rules, regulations and guidance. Be responsible for utilizing, adapting, and modifying scientific methods, techniques and procedures in the independent conception, design and implementation of state DOT and metropolitan planning organization (MPO) work activities, products, research and technology transfer. Completes project on-time, within budget and with completed deliverables. Conducts research following safety practices and guidelines. Understands principles of quality and unbiased research. Continuation in this position is contingent upon availability of funding derived from research program or specific projects.
Essential Duties :
This position spans the areas of transportation planning, programming and project development products and processes. In addition, the position requires knowledge of state and federal transportation planning, funding, finance policies and practices. Research work products apply to federal, state, metropolitan and regional settings.
