The Bi-lingual Mental Heath Clinician Professional is responsible for providing specified mental health service to Unaccompanied Children in the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Shelter program. The Clinician is the care provider staff that provides clinical and / or counseling services for unaccompanied children and provides oversight for the unaccompanied child's mental and emotional health. Duties :
- Conduct and document assigned mental health assessments
- Screens for trauma and child abuse including sexual abuse and human trafficking
- Screens for risk of harm to self or others and recommends appropriate response.
- Contributes to individual service plan (ISP) for each UC
- Provides individual, group, and family therapy
- Provides oversight for UC’s mental and emotional health
- Provides crisis intervention as needed
- Assesses need for higher level of mental health care and / or ORR placement,
including outside referral for psychological evaluations.
Coordinates care with case management and medical personnelCoordinates with Case Manager, Case Coordinator, and other team membersregarding reunification of UC with parent / sponsor
Documents all contact with UC in UC portalMaintains clinical case file materials according to ORR policies and proceduresMaintains appropriate, satisfactory and harmonious relationships with the public, coworkers, other employees and youthQualifications :
Masters degree from accredited clinical program in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or other relevant behavioral scienceor Bachelors Degree plus 5 years clinical employment experienceClinician must be licensed or eligible for licensure in KansasMust pass a KBI and CANIS background check
