Job description

Description

  • Meets and exceeds team metrics goals by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Trains employees to perform their job functions, and continuously monitors such activities to ensure quality, efficiency and understanding.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, as well as initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within department.
  • Completes daily shipping / receiving plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, reporting results of the processing flow, and providing on- shift production summaries.
  • Ability to provide information upon request to other members of the interdisciplinary management team and upper-level leadership.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment, by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
  • Ensures team compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains working relationship with the union, by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending relevant educational workshops as needed.
  • Creates a strong result driven team, and continuously monitors progress towards goals, and metrics.
  • Inventory control ownership for Part Shipping department.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and software.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all logistics functions are completed accurately and on- time.
  • Responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders filled.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling.

Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • Regularly required to sit or stand and move about facility.
  • Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, extreme temperatures, fumes and odors.
  • Position involves lifting and carrying items weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

  • Able to read and interpret orders.
  • Strong Problem-Solving ability
  • Adaptability to an ever-changing and sometimes unpredictable work environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • High level proficiency in PC spreadsheets and ERP / MRP systems.
  • EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION :

  • Three to five (3 - 5) or more years related experience in a shipping / receiving or manufacturing environment
  • Any similar combination of education and experience.
