POSITION SUMMARY :
Under the general supervision from the Director of Teen Summer Camps, the Post Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Teen Post Production Department and managing a team of Technical Assistants to edit acting for film scenes and monologues using industry standard software.
New York Film Academy’s Teen Summer Camps provide intensive programs in filmmaking, acting, screenwriting, musical theatre, documentary, and photography for campers of ages 14 to 17 years old.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES :
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The day-to-day duties required of this position may vary.
Develop workflow procedures, in collaboration with Edit Lab Supervisor, TA Coordinator, and Equipment Room Manager, and provided assistance with training necessary Summer Camp staff
Maintain various logistics necessary to ensure the smooth running of post productions
Schedule and supervise Post Production TAs
Collaborate and work closely with the Edit Lab Supervisor
Approve and review TA staff payroll biweekly
Liaise with acting instructors on creative decisions for final cuts
Assist with Summer Camp Edit Lab(s) set-up before the program starts
Support Summer Camp Administrative staff with facilities and operations needs
Ensure deadlines are met for final screenings and in-class reviews
Other duties as assigned by Teen Camp Director, Assistant Director, or senior management
KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES :
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds including students, faculty and staff
Ability to work hard, responds to emergencies, and always maintains the safety and educational environment for the students
A strong grasp of Final Cut, Avid and Adobe Premiere
Strong technical grasp of film equipment such as HMC, 5D Mark II, C300, shotgun mics, tripods, onboard shock mounts, c-stands, boom poles, etc. is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent skills in database management and record keeping
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and simultaneously on projects of varied complexity, carrying out each to its conclusion with a very high level of effectiveness
Must possess the ability to exercise group leadership skills, which emphasize collaboration, consensus building, conflict resolution, and problem solving
Must possess ability and willingness to manage multiple priorities and projects
Strong customer service skills with the ability to meet and serve the public, both in person and by telephone, tactfully and effectively

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and CERTIFICATION
High School / GED required.
Post production experience required
Film / Video Production Experience preferred
Experience providing technical support on film shoots and / or art events required.
Experience working in a fast-paced multi-tasking results driven environment with attention to detail.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suite Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience and comfortability with students ages 14-17

Outdoor / Indoor Film Set / Shoot environment
Sit for long / high periods of time to perform various computer / administrative tasks

Able to place and remove materials from shelves
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, and manual dexterity
Verbally and effectively communicate utilizing face-to-face contact and telephones
Lift, carry, push and / or pull documents / boxes weighing up to 10-15 lbs
Minimal travel as needed
