COMPANY's BRIEF INTRODUCTION

NYK Group South Asia (NGSA) Pte. Ltd. was founded in 1983 and is a company based in Singapore as the Regional Management Office (“RMO”) for global shipping and logistics services. NGSA has strong presence in the South Asia and Oceania region to provide dynamic supports to the NYK group companies in the region.

We are currently recruiting the Executive Director to join our Dry Bulk Division. The candidate must be an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated individual with real passion for the above segment, and possess experience in subsidiary company management, sales, S&P, chartering and operations in shipping companies.

The candidate is required to be bilingual in both English and Japanese language, with a proficiency level equivalent to N1 of the Japanese proficiency test in listening, speaking, reading and writing to communicate with Japanese clients and Tokyo HQ.

JOB OUTLINE

Candidate is also responsible to ensure that the daily business activities are in compliance with the NYK Group Credo and business policies. He / she reports to the Managing Director and carry out co-leading functions of the division. He / she must ensure timely and accurate response to customer's request and liaise with each stakeholder (internal / external) for smooth coordination for all transactions.

Appointment : Permanent role

Minimum experience : 20 years in shipping industries including;

minimum 7 years in dry bulk shipping.
experience in sales, customer relationship, S&P, chartering and vessel operations.

Working days : Mondays to Fridays, and Saturdays and Sundays if travelling is required.

Working hours : 9.00am – 5.30pm

Qualifications : Diploma / Degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, Social Science, International Relations or relevant discipline

Salary : S$12,000 to S$23,000 depending on experience

Your duties essential for the job :

Act as Executive Director of sales / chartering / profit & loss for vessels owned / chartered by NYK Bulkship (Asia) Pte. Ltd.

Represent NYK Group’s Dry Bulk Division and manage / establish good business relationships with its existing and new clients in Singapore and Asia / Oceania region.

Engage with external and internal stakeholders and coordinate each project as the project manager.

Manage and encourage NYK Group’s local staff in countries in Asia / Oceania region and cooperate with them in achieving the missions.

Collect intelligence relating to energy policies and situations in Asia / Oceania region, and report to relevant stakeholders, including NYK Group’s management / managers and NYK Line Tokyo HQ.

Any other duties related to this role.

Basic requirements :

Strong experience & knowledge in, sales, customer relationship, S&P, chartering and vessel operations.

Experience in ship financing and cashflow analysis.

Ability to travel worldwide where necessary.

Bilingual in both English and Japanese (JPLT N1) to liaise with Japanese speaking customers and associates.

Experience in managing and leading a team in business.

Attentive to details.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.

Positive attitude and ability to work under stress.

Punctuality and good attendance is a MUST.
