Firefighter Airport

IMMEDIATELY HIRING!   AIRPORT FIREFIGHTERS FULL-TIME Opportunity

25.75 per hour

We are hiring  Airport Firefighters  with a passion for firefighting combined with the drive to succeed and deliver high-quality care.

Job Summary : The Firefighter operates and maintains a variety of fire apparatus and firefighting equipment participates in firefighting activities, emergency medical services and performs mechanical maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and apparatus.

Responsibilities : Customer Service

  • Conduct fire safety, home safety, fire extinguisher and pre-fire planning inspections.
  • Provide information to the public, install smoke detectors, conduct station tours, visit schools, and participate in public education standbys.
  • Work involves serving the public.
  • Work requires cooperative / supportive interaction with co-workers, supervisors, doctors, and other healthcare workers.
  • Work requires interaction with representatives of clients, other fire departments and local, state, and federal agencies.

Fire Suppression

  • Performs fire suppression duties by responding to emergency fire scenes.
  • Assists in the suppression of various types of fires; applying the appropriate extinguishing agents to the source of the fire.
  • Operates various pieces of fire equipment and gear for fire suppression and control; drives and operates fire apparatus; conducts search and rescue; ventilation and salvage operations.
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Responds to emergency medical calls by evaluating situations, providing emergency and non-emergency medical procedures both on scene and in a moving vehicle, and transferring patients to medical facilities.
  • Treat patients in accordance with level of certification and established Emergency Medical Service Protocols.
  • Communications

  • Operates and inspects communications equipment.
  • Conduct all radio communications in a professional, respectful manner and in accordance with company and external agency policies.
  • Prepare written documents for internal and external audiences.
  • Maintenance

  • Conduct daily and weekly vehicle and equipment inspections as assigned.
  • Ensure all vehicle and equipment discrepancies are documented and reported to the immediate Supervisor.
  • Perform daily maintenance of facilities by cleaning, inspecting, and any other facility maintenance deemed necessary.
  • Training

  • Participate in all required training sessions, including, but not limited to, live fire drills, performance evaluation drills, ongoing skills maintenance, practice and training, annual OSHA drills, EMS major skills and any other mandatory Company training.
  • Minimum Required  Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record in accordance with Company policy. DUI within the last 5 years is disqualifying.
  • Able to work any shift assigned, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Available to work overtime as assigned and as needed on an emergency basis.
  • Must meet local standards pertaining to qualifications, training and / or eligibility for hiring placement or promotion.
  • Credentials / Licenses :

  • NFPA 1001 - Firefighter I / II
  • NFPA 1003 -Airport Firefighter
  • NFPA 472 - Hazardous Materials First Responder. Operations Level
  • New Jersey Emergency Medical Technician, EMR or a National Registry EMT-B or equivalent
  • CPR / AED certification at the Healthcare Provider level
  • National Incident Management courses 100, 200, 700, and 800
