Model MakerMachinist II or III

Position Objective

Creates and constructs tools and parts in a variety of materials such as metal and plastic. Uses blueprints drawings and / or CAD designs to create models according to established specifications. May perform minor repair on model making machinery.

Primary or Major Responsibilities :

• Must be knowledgeable of and experienced in the operation upkeep and maintenance of machine shop equipment including (but not limited to) lathe mill shear brake band saw grinder and drill.
• Working knowledge of forming bending and machining both metal and plastic materials.
• Practical skills in the use of tools processes and mechanical fixtures.
• Ability to fabricate and assemble production tooling fixtures and prototype parts.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints and Solidworks drawings
• Performs preventative maintenance to machine shop tooling and equipment in the model shop according to the preventative maintenance plan.
• Maintain shop to assure a clean safe and orderly work environment.
• All other duties as assigned.

Safety :

Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable Federal State Provincial and Company safety and health regulations and where applicable proper personal protective equipment is utilized. All safety equipment must be used while operating machinery and lock out tag out procedures followed.
