Job description

Cognicion LLC, a boutique eDiscovery services and information management provider is actively recruiting a motivated, currently enrolled college student interested in gaining a paid technology internship this summer. The internship will provide real world exposure to business technology needs and challenges as well as needs and challenges specific to the eDiscovery industry. Cognicion's Technology Intern assists and supports internal teams by researching and recommending solutions to technical challenges and providing day-to-day support of tools, applications, processes, and requirements for internal IT infrastructure and / or eDiscovery technology. The role also leads project work related to future use of IT applications and other resources. Located in Richmond Virginia's financial district, Cognicion's technology internship will have a hybrid work schedule of 2-3 days per week being in person on-site.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • Collaborates and works with internal teams to understand current use of company IT infrastructure and eDiscovery data collection and review platforms.
  • Assists in providing ongoing project and technology support for internal and external teams.
  • Assists internal teams, external teams and vendors to troubleshoot technology-based issues.
  • Provides research, analysis, and recommendation for future state technology infrastructure and eDiscovery platform questions.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and effective use of time e.g., ability to plan daily work, set priorities and manage time to ensure work is timely and efficiently completed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS)

  • High School Diploma.
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • Expected graduation between June 2025 and June 2027.
  • Strong academic achievement; a GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a computer science, information systems, or eDiscovery field preferred.
  • TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office Products and other technology platforms; strong working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
