Schneider Downs is seeking an Accounting Advisory Director to join our rapidly growing Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) practice that offers a variety of technical accounting advisory services, as well as outsourced accounting and finance advisory services, for every type of organization from small businesses that have limited resources, to large publicly-traded and privately-held companies who need technical and short-term financial expertise. AAS clients engage with us to help solve complex accounting and finance challenges where no two projects will be the same.

Schneider Downs has embraced the hybrid work model, so this role will have flexibility working from home, as well as in the office. We are also open to individuals working remotely for this opportunity if they are within driving distance from our clients and target markets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Consult and advise clients on complex accounting and finance issues which may include, but are not limited to, technical accounting issues, financial reporting, operational accounting, buy-side or sell-side accounting assistance and post-merger integration
  • Perform temporary outsourced CFO / Controller services as needed
  • Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients and revenue for the firm
  • Provide thought leadership by developing content, conducting webinars and public speaking on relevant topics
  • Develop and lead teams to respond to our clients' unique needs and expectations
  • Manage the client engagement including work plans, staffing, deadlines and budgets throughout the duration of the project, including strategy, goal setting, deliverables and maintaining an integrated project plan; ensure client profitability targets are met
  • Build relationships with colleagues across multiple service lines to provide seamless integrated services
  • Coach, motivate and develop team members, by providing feedback, mentoring and career development opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other related technical discipline is required
  • Minimum of 10 years in public accounting; preferably working within either an accounting advisory or external audit function
  • CPA, PMP, CMA, CGMA or CAAS licensure is required
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of consultants and analysts, managing projects and delivering excellent client service while building relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Proven track record of success in business development and building a profitable practice
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to assist in the growth of the practice
