RN - Cath Lab

Must have basic knowledge of the job of a Cath lab nurse as in preparing patients for catheterization angioplasty and pacemaker implantations. Must assist physician in the catheterization angioplasty and pacemaker implantations processes. Must keep patient calm and relaxed during procedure where they re required to be awake. As a senior Cath lab nurse must administer appropriate medicine when needed. Must be able perform proper after procedure care. Must check vital signs of the patient with proper care. Provide education about medications and care to the patients and families before the discharge.

RN Cath Lab The Baylor Heart Hospital Plano RN Cath Lab Patient Population : Invasive Cardiology Structural Heart and Peripheral Vascular Disease Patient Ratios : Procedural Area Number of Rooms : 4 Cath Labs Shift : Full Time / 4 / 10s / Days Required Experience : Minimum of (2) two years of recent full time RN Cath Lab as RN Call Requirement : Must live under 30 minutes from hospital. Call is 6 : 10 weekday shifts per schedule (6 weeks) and 1 weekend per 6 weeks. JOB SUMMARY The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who uses the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery by the health care team. Using the nursing process the RN assesses the patient identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems develops and implements an individualized plan of care and evaluates the patients response. The RN promotes safe passage for their patients by using knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients to transition through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act each patients condition and the competencies of the employee ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE Clinical Judgment : Using clinical reasoning conducts accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards. Identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs. Develops implements and evaluates the nursing plan of care. Modifies plan to meet clinical outcomes. Clinical Inquiry : Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice including but not limited to nursing delicate indicators.
