Are you enthusiastic about bringing stories to life using the enchantment of theatre and puppetry? The Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC) in Capitol Heights, MD, US, is in search of a dedicated individual to join our team as a Theatre / Puppetry Specialist. This position presents an excellent opportunity to ignite the creativity of young minds with the mesmerizing realm of performance art.

Duties entail crafting captivating performances, nurturing up-and-coming talent, and instilling a passion for the arts within the local youth community. Offering a competitive hourly rate ranging from $25 to $28, you will have a pivotal role in a vibrant team committed to shaping the future leaders of tomorrow. Compensation : 25 - $28 per hour

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement creative lesson plans for theatre and puppetry workshops.
  • Coordinate and lead engaging classroom activities focusing on performance arts.
  • Design and create puppet characters and props for theatrical productions.
  • Manage classroom dynamics and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to organize and execute performances showcasing students' talents.

Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of experience in theatre or puppetry performance.
  • Strong background in lesson planning for theatrical or puppetry productions.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Proficiency in creating engaging and interactive puppet shows or theatrical performances.
  • US work authorization and eligibility to work in Maryland.
