Job description

Senior Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct regular reviews and reconciliations of balance sheets and income statements on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries for items such as pre-paid expenses, accruals, intercompany transactions, interest, and eliminations.
  • Record payroll journal entries and collaborate closely with the HR department.
  • Compare sub-ledger entries to general ledger records to detect and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Complete bank reconciliations (daily, weekly, and monthly timelines).
  • Match credit card payments to invoices for proper allocation.
  • Calculate monthly sales team commissions, ensuring accuracy with sales leaders and HR.
  • Assist the international accounting team in meeting month-end close deadlines.
  • Reconcile and log tariff charges as part of the weekly landed cost process.
  • Review inventory transactions against accounts payable to resolve any inconsistencies.
  • Handle annual 1042 filings for non-US vendors (specifically for royalties).
  • Maintain lease files and ensure accurate schedules for straight-line rent, deferred rent, and rent / CAM reconciliation.
  • Lead audits for all company entities as required.
  • Manage property tax return submissions.
  • Input wire transfers for payments on a weekly basis.
  • Create ad-hoc financial reports as requested.

Required Qualifications :

  • At least 7 years of combined experience as a staff and senior accountant.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting (B.A. / B.S.).
  • International accounting experience plus.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel and demonstrated abilities in reconciliations.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft D365 F&O is beneficial.
  • Experience with state sales tax is a plus.
