General Description

The Chief Development Office / Foundation Student Assistant will assist with various duties in the Chief Development Office / Foundation. Reports To Executive Director of Foundation What position(s) reports to this position? None Minimum Education / Experience Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the fall and spring semesters or enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours for the summer semester.

Current OCCC student with a federal work study award. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to work in organized manner.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.

Positive communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and interact with customers in a positive manner.

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar software programs.

Accurate spelling and filing skills.

High attention to detail. Physical Demands / Working Conditions 1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Light work : The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :

This position requires the person to frequently move about the Human Resources office and occasionally move about the OCCC main campus to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to visitors, administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.

This position frequently requires the person to operate a computer and other office equipment to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position requires the person to operate equipment that frequently involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.

This position requires the person to frequently position self to work on equipment, to assist customers, and to perform the essential functions of the position.

3. VISUAL ACUITY :

This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.

4. WORKING CONDITIONS

This position performs the essential functions in an indoor office setting. Preferred Qualifications None Required Training Work Hours As needed or assigned not to exceed 25 hours per week, anytime between 8 : 00 am and 5 : 00 pm, Monday – Friday. Answer the phone during peak times

Make phone calls as directed to various stakeholders

Make Copies

Write personalized notes as directed

Sort and prepare material for distribution as needed

Assist with special projects

Deliver information / material to departments as needed

Storage organization

Meeting set-up and break down

Post and remove signage / banners

Process mail

Support during campaign and events

Order food and drinks for events Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures) Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.

Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
